Well, got back from Fla. and learned a few things.
1) Running 80+ on the freeway will still get you 24+ mpg. I was impressed, dropping 20 mph gave me 27-28 mpg. I never thought you could get that kind of mileage out of a 500HP car with 3:15 gears.
2) Giving a Carrera porsche a 10-12 car length jump at 60 mph will only get him annilihated. It's almost obscene.
3) Guys in Volkswagon bugs love Corvettes too.
4) Corvettes are not heavy rain/flood cars.
5) State troopers actually give "thumbs up" when passing vettes.
6) Embarassing a Porsche owner will only get you a cold shoulder look at the next light.
The trip went well, 13 hours one way, 8 hours coming back. (damn construction) I absolutely hate it when you wait over 2 hours to go 1 mile and the accident (or in this case, construction) isn't even on your side... People are stopping just to look. WTF, haven't they ever seen a construction barrell? arrghhh.
Got a few waves, got great gas mileage and even had the top down for 20 miles...lol.

Glad to be back though.

You must have taken I-95 I think it's been under construction for ever
Overall, the trip was great. My s/o didn't go, we do everything together and I love spending time with her but it was nice to get in the car, crank the tunes or listen to the sweet sound of the exhaust.
One thing I did notice though. I had to remove my insulator so I could put a spoiler in the trunk. Without the insulator, I couldn't believe how much LOUDER my car was without it. I've had the insulator installed for so long, I honestly forgot how loud stingers are.
It was a nice change but first thing tomorrow, I'm putting the insulator back tomorrow.
Why only 20 miles? Didn't you turn the heat up? That's what I'll do with my roof panel off when it's in the 50 degree range (if it's not raining)...
I left at 6am. By 10, it was getting warm and the sun finally started to come out. I dropped the top and in less than a few minutes, the temps dropped 10 degrees and I drove through the worst downpour I've ever driven through. (Ranked right next to the rain they got from Frances) Heat doesn't help that...lol.
Knowme,
I tried to pull up to the guy afterwards and be nice and say, "nice car" or something but he wouldn't even look my way.
