new tires put on got a question
only carried the wheel and tires was afraid they would scratch the car or something worse.my question now i have a couple of scratches on the rims which im not really 2 upset about but they are there my question is can i use some very very fine sand paper or something else to lightly sand down the spots and then spray on some clearcoat.or is this all a bad idea.i have some clear coat from a previous job on my 85 rims and just wanted yalls opinion... thanks again my rims are off a 02 vert .and id like to keep them as nice as possible .

If you can find some 1500 grit wet sandpaper then just about any polish will take out the scratches left by the paper. The toothpaste is a good place to start though. If that takes it out all the better. Good tip.
