just replaced my ragtop and getting leaks( water, minor) and my geuss is the weatherstripping is worn( ?) new stripping in 300+ at the dealer is there anyone in c5ville who can come up with a less expensive solution ? all wind noise is gone too, windows and doors lay flush. i replaced the top because it was worn .any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I suggest that you get some di electric grease and rub a small amount on each rubber gasket. It will soften them and make them much more pliable. This should make them seal better.
You can buy this product at the dealership for about $40.00 for a tube. I went to a Honda motorcycle shop and got a tube of it for $20.00. It is a gel type silicon lubricant.
I believe there is an adjustment that can be made to the top frame assembly to make it fit down tighter but I am not sure.
Did you do the top yourself?....have a new top for my vert as well and was wondering how hard it is to install.
Thanks.
no.professionally done.....really good job too,but when i bought it back to him for further adjustments because of the leaks, he told me that the seals were bad

i appreciate the advice and will purchase the lubricant, but the seals seem to be soft, they aren't brittle, would this still be the way ? i just dont want to spend nearly 400 big ones on some rubber pieces, but i'll spend 20.00
Since you say your seals are still good the top can be adjusted. I can't tell you how to do it but I am sure someone on here or in tech tips can help you.

Did the same seals leak with the old top? If not, tell him to adjust the darn thing!
