Default pwr. loss after engine warm-up??

Anyone tell me why? 03 Z06-After start-up and engine warms for about 5 minutes and gets everything up to par, I have tremendous power. However, after about 20 or 30 minutes, I feel a very noticeable power difference and it appears like probably 30 hp less. It just doesn't have near the power after running a while. What is this?

I'll agree with you though maybe not as extreme. My car is down right perky when running cool but once the water temps get up around 190-200 and the oil temp to 200-210 the power drain is noticable. That's why all the discussion about lower temp programming and thermostats on this site. Haven't done it myself. My old Z28 feels like a dog when it's hot. Run the AC all the time to keep the fluid temps down as much as you can.... Maybe others will reply w/ their insight....

I haven't really noticed this.. These engines actually make more power when they are hot. This is not the norm for most engines... The shop who dynoed my car also told me the same thing.. and sure enough... my last pull was the best.
A hot engine with cool intake air is the best combination for power.
