Well said Sandman. Combining the effectivness of both systems would be a nice addition to the process.

I've thought of installing a kill switch. Matter of fact I did one in my wife's 66 Mustang. I like that Lojack has an additional package that alerts you when the vehicle is moved. The kill switch will prevent driving it away, but the Lojack system will alert me as soon as it is moved/towed. I could then call 911 and stand a better chance of getting it back, vs finding out hours later then notifying the police. I'm thinking the Lojack system is more complete, and I'm convincing myself to go that direction. I'm going to see if my insurance will give me a discount and then decide. thanks for your inputs!!!

Onstar is the best way to go! My 2005 Tahoe is equipped with one and I think its very neat. If it got stolen for example all You have to do is dial the number and they can kill the engine.
