I've looked into this extensivly....according to reports and evals I've seen, it works very well and is the best on the market. Legally, laser is governed by the FDA rather than the FCC, as it's a light emitting device rather than a communications device, so it's not illegal to use it as radar jammers are.
HOWEVER, many municipalities have passed laws that say it is illegal to interfere with any police speed measuring device, and even those that have not passed these laws can and probably will nail you for interfering with a police officer's ability to perform duties. My attorney advised me not to install it and use it.

Anything that is passive does not work.. I have tried every detector/jammer there is and I can 100% gurantee you none of them work.. The only jammers that work are the "active" jammers and they are about $2k... You best bet is the valentine 1, its the best radar/laser detector made, I personally own one and wil swear by it.. I havent gotten a ticket in the past 8 months Ive had it!

Seeing as I am the only one to respond with I have one, I will tell you I love it. It has worked twice for me. I have only got laser twice so that is a pretty good sucess rate. I have the display mounted right above my rear veiw mirror so unless you are in the car you can not see it. I went with this unit because it is built in and can not be stolen out of my vert. It is pricey but worth the stealthness.

Check your states laws concerning jammers. They are illegal in California and will be confiscated if the LEO's detect you have one.
