Well I did the gauge bezel install today. It really isn't that bad. I know the car looks like it's never going to go back together the way it looks once you have everything taken apart. But there's really not that many screws and stuff to take out. There's more stuff to disconnect than anything else. While I was in there I retreived the twilight sentinel that I dropped into the dash last year when I disabled it. Now I can re-enable it whenever I want without tearing the dash apart. Once the cluster was out and the lens was off I decided to clean it up. Man was it filthy. I have some plastic cleaner that I use on my motorcycle winshield. I used the cleaner and it took 3 or 4 applications to get the film off of it then a couple of applications of the polish and now it's like not even there it's so clear.
So here's some pics of my day.
I also got the Harness K installed while I was at it. Thanks goes out to Quasar 99 for selling that to me.
And VNM for the gauge bezels thanks Mark they look great.

I was thinking about it when I do my VE Extreme Makeover - but I decided that would wait for another day. Wanna come do mine? I'll provide room and board.......

Arizona sounds great. If you want to wait about a year or so I'd be glad to do it for you. I am planning on going down to San Diego maybe this year probably next. And I've always wanted to visit Arizona. You guys are supposed to have some great golf courses down there.
Nice job Ed..... Looks even better in person.
I'll bet you were here within 15 minutes of that last screw going in.

That's about right! And I did get the harness K working after all.

Ed - San Diego is about 380 miles from Phoenix. It's about 6 .5 hours in a mortal car, about 5 hours in a Vette!
Golf is Phoenix's middle name! There's only about 140 golf courses in the area! I used to play before I got the Vette - now all my free time is tied up with it, and I haven't swung my golf clubs in anger in almost a year!
If you decide to venture over this way, be sure to let me know. We have a pretty active Corvette community around here and we love to show off!
Nice job! That was the first interior mod I did and what a difference it makes. It does look like your ripping the car apart when you do it, but it's not near as bad as it looks. When I did mine, my neighbor saw me working in the garage and about freaked out when he saw all the interior parts laying every where. I said "Relax, I think I remember where all the parts go back!"
Right on!! That's what we like to hear. Really it's not bad. 4 screws and the waterfall is off. 4 nuts and the console is out of the way. 3 screws the piece that covers the radio and shifter is gone. Then 3 more screws for the knee bolster. And then 4 screws for the display and 2 nuts and 4 screws for the steering column. So that's 18 screws and 6 nuts. And I love the way it all came apart. I hear complaints about fit and finish. But I wonder how much gets broken in the other supposed luxury cars when you try to take them apart. I think we are very fortunate that Chevrolet built this car so people can actually work on them.
