Default Need Help!!

As some of you know I had my front facia repainted last year after a duel with a piece of flying plywood. (the Vette lost)
Anyway the car is Black 2003 Vert. Paint Code 41U
also on the glovebox tag there is another number 8555 that the bodyshop claims is a universal black which is the same mixing formula and this is the color they used.
I checked with Sherwin Williams and they confirmed it is the same formula. PPG tells me there are 5 different formula Blacks on that Paint code.
My problem is this, The repaint doesn't match!!!
The darn facia is a very black color and the rest of the car is kind of a hazy black and/or has a a gray tinge.
What is going on???
Any paint guru's out there????
Can anyone offer an explanation???

Can't help you on the paint, but I thought I would send you to the top since you were about to slip off the first page without any responses. Good luck!

41U is the RPO number for your black. WA-8555 is the paint code. See link below:

2003 Corvette Paint Specifications

The only things I can think of are:

1) Your original paint could have faded some over time if exposed to the sun long enough. A good body shop should know how to compensate for this when mixing the paint.

2) Or, the paint was mixed wrong to begin with.

Hopefully, one of the Forum paint gurus will chime in shortly with some help for you.

Good luck with the fix.

As an outside chance, or thought, is the part of the car that was not painted waxed? If so the wax may be causing the cloudy look. On the flip side, if it has not been waxed in some time it could be that the paint has "dried" out a bit and a coat of wax or detailer will darken it up.

Default Paint??

Further on my original post.
The car is an early 2003 BD Sept 2002
Painted facia has not been waxed (Zaino) yet
the rest of the car has 10 coats of Zaino Z5 and 2 coats of Z2
Does this help???
Anyone else have an input to the issue??

I agree. You should strip the wax, refinish the whole car and see if that helps. Nobody wants a two-tone anymore.
