Default help something wrong with my door trim?

I took my 04 Z06 to the dealer today for an paint issue which they fixed but I also asked them to try to remove the glue bits that were located around the roof where it looks like the had paper covering it during assembly.

When I got the car back I noticed that there was a gap between the hard plastic molding and the roof on the top of both doors. There is a pliable rubber gasket along the front and rear windshields. Is this normal? I don't remember a gap before. I thought it was flush.

Can somebody tell me what their car looks like. Maybe there was the same pliable rubber gasket along the doors as well. Is there anything between the hard plastic molding and the roof? The manager swears that the gap is as designed and should be there.

your help is appreciated.

link to the photos

the pix with ruler are from the driver's side
the gap in the passenger side is not as large and the wooden ruler would not fit
the gap is not uniform throughout the length of the hard plastic molding

The gap is normal, but did you notice the gap that big before the dealer had it? Also my car did not have much glue but my moms c5 conv have glue all over the entire car, badly...The trunk took a few hours of getting this off.

I don't remember the gap. It is about 1/4 inch. I think I would have remembered it since I wax and clean the car myself and I pknow I would have gotten wax in the gap and struggled to het it out.

Like I said earlier, they claim that it is a drain for the water from the roof.

Taking a picture tonoght and sending to a fellow at the corvette museum. I'll post here as well.

It's just hard to compare without seeing myself. Difficult because there don't seem to be any Z06's in my area that I am aware of.

Gap at top, but not on the vertical moulding at the back. I'm sure it's designed in so when you crack the window or open the door with a wet roof, you don't get water drips or sheeting inside. Look at the amount of tumble-home. It lines up with the armrest or your leg. No macho male would impress females if he hopped out of this gorgeous car, and had a wet spot on the front of his tan Dockers.

BTW - The glue comes off easily with rubbing alcohol. It does not hurt the paint, but might strip the wax (depending on type).
