Default my budd's post....

THis is my freind not me so here he goes....

ok guys i posted this on stangnet.com and corvette forum so i would like a honest opion........

What would you guys rather have a 98 99 C5 corvette stock (like don's)........Or a 95 mustang with complete built suspension (coilovers, link suspension, New k member and basically everything) A 351 possible stroker, possible twin turbo, Est. 500 + hp.......with nice interior (racing seats, and kick *** audio system) and saleen body kit with new paint job and nice set of 19 inch rims.......

Ive been contemplating this for some time, ive owned many mustangs non of that nature but i love them anyway. my buddy recently got a vette (85 C4) and i started thinking of getting one...thing is they are very expensive to fix, but are easy to make fast, Its just ive been loyal to ford my whole life......

WHAT SHOULD I DO?..................please dont be bias..

1ST OF ALL i need more info. Is this your daily driver or a project. if its daily driver then the vette is MUCH smarter. 2ndly if its a weekend/project then I would still say go with the vent cause ultimately the vette will go faster than that 95 stang. Lastly, you will be driving a corvette, and NOT a mustang. Eveyerone might like to drive both cars and like their looks. But a stang is a stang and a vette is a vette. Thats mho

Simple - you want a pony car, stay with the stang. If you want a sports car, trade up to a C5.

I agree, it depends on what you are looking for. For a true sports car, go with the Vette. If you just want something that may be fast in a straight line, get the Stang.

I like all makes and models of American muscle, but in this case I would have to say go with the Corvette. It's not that I am blind loyal to what I drive, but the pride factor.

I would rather have a bone stock Corvette that I can mod for myself and make my own, instead of purchasing an already modded Mustang that is someone else's vision of what a car should be. Where's the fun and pride factor in doing something like that?

The first pic below is of my two cars - an '02 C5 and an '03 GT. The GT is my daily driver and is stock. The C5 is my weekend toy and is, well, let's say "not stock". I could have modded the Stang but chose to put the money in the vette because I felt it was much better spent. If I was forced to make a choice between the two, well, the second pic tells the story . . .

Good luck in your decision.

The stang will have a lot more tuning issues and require more maintainance. I sold my 95 GT with most of the stuff you listed to get my Vette.

Here is my opinion. I had a 99GT 35th Anniversary edition. Limited Edition 1 of 2400 made. Bought that mustang new off the lot. Pampered the hell out of the Mustang.

I drove it around for 2.5 years, until I started thinking about the Corvette. Why?? Well I am a true sports car freak and the Mustang as much as I enjoyed the car never felt like a true sports car. Yes you can fix the stang to power out, but it just was missing something.

When I got into the vette, the whole suspension and experience was different. Never looked back and don't regret it at all. I still like Mustangs don't get me wrong, but if I was looking for my shadow the Corvette is my shadow and personality of me.

And as far as mods go, the corvette is one of the best cars to work on. This forum rocks with information and how to do it right.

Cheers!! on what ever you do.

I'll tell you exactly what sold me on a Vette. I wanted a true 100%sports car. When I found the prices being a bit higher than I wanted to spend, I started looking and TA's and Mustang's. Then I realized that a TA or Stang would only put me half way there. I wanted a 100% sports car and I felt that a Stang or TA was in reality only 50% of a sport car. Hell just look at the picture above of the Vette and Stang side by side. The Stang isn't a bad looking car ... unless it's parked next to a Vette! Then it looks like a cheap piece of crap Ford. The Vette on the other hand looks & feels like it means business ... and it does! Why do you think so many of us have bought used C5's rather than a new Stang? It's because we didn't want to go half way. It would suck to go on the rest of your life trying to pretend your Mustang is cool, when you know in your heart that only a Vette would satisfy your true desire I know you'll make the right decision. Please post pictures of your Vette in the near future. We're looking forward to seeing it
