Can anyone tell me how to remove the wheel well liners and how difficult is it? I read some posts that when insulation is added some had difficulty getting all the screws back in. Would longer screws help? I hate to take on this project but I’m tired of having my ears ring after a nice ride.
Getting them out is soooo easy! There are like 6-8 small phillips head screws (if I remember correctly). Of course you need your wheels off to do it, but they pop right out. Back in is just as easy....not sure about longer screws with insulation under there.
If you line the upper part of the wheel well with Frost King or Reflectix, they may be hard to get back in. There is a piece of rubber on the top of the wheel well liner that fits tight up against the body anyway, so you probably don't need the additional insulation there.
If you leave that part off, they go back in relatively easy. Stuffing the tunnel with fiberglass insulation has no effect on putting the wheel liner back in.

Just be careful with the part of the liner that goes inside the rocker panel in the front of the wheel well. The liner can be broken if you are not careful how much you bend it - I found out the hard way.
Everyone has been using a duct insulation material by Frost King available at Lowe's. It has a self adhesive backing that allows you to stick it on the body. Only problem is that Lowes no longer carries this product. I am looking for something similar that is not to expensive. I found a product on the home depot website but the store did not carry it.
