Drove all the way to St. Louis and back today (500 Mile trip)....and 1/2 mile from getting home I tag a darn SKUNK
I'm leaving the car out of the garage all night...BUT if it still stinks in the morning Anyone know what to spray the underside with to kill the smell
I'm worried it'll sift up into the interior too!
Geez I'm lucky....I've lost 2 facia's (1 to an iceberg and 1 to an elephant sized racoon last summer)
Doesn't look like I've got damage this time and I didn't hear any major clunk or bang...but that sucker got a good spray in on me
good luck..... i hit one with my truck last year... the wife made be park at the street because it stunk so bad... i took it thru an automatic car wash 2 times ...

I'm not sure just what will kill the smell other than time. Try washing it and see if that gets a lot of it off the car. Best of luck with a smelly situation.
Haven't you guys seen Mythbusters? BUSTED!!!!!. I think they said that Ammonia and detergent mixed was best, but don't quote me. Hopefully that doesn't explode if I;m wrong. BUT, it was supposed to be better than commercial skunk remover. I'll look some more about it, but maybe the ammonia might destroy the paint. Good Luck with getting it out.
The traditional cure is tomato juice. However there are new formulas that work better. Call any Veterinarian, and they will give you what you need ... just stuff you can get at the grocery store. Our cat got sprayed, we got the formula from the vet, and we washed him in it and it worked fine. I just don't have it any more. I must say ... that was one pissed off cat in the bathtub getting soaked with that stuff. I had three layers on, and gloves, and I was still bleeding on both arms when we got done ... but it worked.
Also, seems to me that I would have been to the spray car wash already, if I were you. Can't hurt to clean the undercarriage as well as possible.
I know the best skunk smell remover for a dog or cat is to use Massengill Douche. A Vet told me that is what they use.. You can take it from here!!!!!!!
Massengill Douche. You can take it from here!!!!!!!
I have to give my car a douche
Now that's funny.......
I let it sit out all night long while it was raining. I haven't opened it yet but you can definitely still smell the skunk
Thanks for the advice
We had a skunk living under our building at work and boy did our whole area stink. The "critter catchers" finally caught him, but not before it sprayed the whole place down. I think only time can get rid of that skunk smell. Sorry, good luck man.
