I was thinking the same thing myself yesterday. Stopped in a stealer to look at a C6 and it looked like the center console might fit, but was also looking at that radio and the wheels started turning in my head.
I think someone has already found out that it won't work, but if it does, it's something I'd like to do simply because it has to potential to work easily, looks like it belongs, and has almost no draw for thieves.
I believe the C6 navigation unit is a double DIN where as the C5 uses 1.5 DIN. That right there says it will not fit. Second, most newer navigation system use a single wire bus system that allows the unit to communicate with other vehicle systems for information such as speed for example. Some of the systems that it communicates with are the BMC, and the main computer. It will be very complicated to get a C6 navigation to work in the C5 if its even possible.
Any body perform this mod? Adding the C6 radio and Nav system to a C5.
Why bother with the C6 stuff when there are soooo many better aftermarket nav systems that you can put in your dash. They have more internal features and are more plug-n-play upgradable with add-ons such as rear cameras, PCs, games...you name it. Not saying you need all that but rather the potential.
Go over to the Audio/Electronics Forum and start asking around. Some of these guys have stuff you wouldn't believe...way beyond
