I replaced my low beams with the Silverstars and like them much better than the stock lights. Mostlikely the difference is the color of the light (white vs yellow), but I do believe I can seen better. I haven't replaced the high beams for two reasons:
1. I don't use the high beams that much
2. The high beams work fine when I do use them.
I will put the Siverstars in the low beams again if the ones I presently have burn out. I have had these blubs for about six months.
That's exactly what I did. Had mine for over a year now.
have them in my DD for a couple of years and no issues of them burning out, I just perfer the whiter if not brighter bulb,
well worth the cheap upgrade
Whiter and a bit brighter in my opinion. I had my first set in a 2001 Grand Prix, when the only place you could purchase them was from either Sylvania's site or some INTERNET retailers. That set lasted two years, and when the vehicle went off lease, I pulled them and gave them to a neighbor for his 1999 GP, and they are still burning bright in his GP.
When I purchased the Vette, one of the first things I did was order, and install a complete set of Silverstars, and they are still burning as bright as the day I purchased them.
Last year I also installed a set of their sealed beam in my Wrangler...big difference with the sealed beam, a lot bigger than with the Vette or the GP.
Are they worth it? Yes, and everyone I know says so too.
If you should ever touch the bulb, clean with alcohol (not rum). Best to use a cotton glove. The oil on your fingers can cause a hot spot causing them to burn out.
Lots of different opinions here on Silverstars, so I may as well add mine.
The low beams look a little bluish-green to me, but I've gotten used to it. The high beams ... I can't tell a difference in them and stock. They're certainly no brighter, and I can't tell that visibility is improved at all. I'd not spend $80 to change over again ... only if I needed to change because of burned out stock bulbs.
Changeout was not that simple for me. The stock bulbs were in very tight, and there's no way to get real leverage to unscrew them. It was a bear!
BTW, to get the old ones out, turn counterclockwise. That's logical, but it doesn't say it anywhere in the manual.
Found it necessary to align the h/lites after installing the Silverstars, could have been my problem all along. They do provide improved illumination,at least imho. No burn out problems, if they do I'd buy them again.
I have them in my Z and used them in my previous 99 FRC. It is a worthwhile upgrade to the stock lights.
You don't have to do anything but change out the bulbs. I got mine for about $23 and installed them in 20 minutes. My night driving experience improved by an amount that exceeded the cost and energy to change out the bulbs.
I might go with euro lenses and upgraded wiring and bulbs. If I do this I will probably have to replace the gear in the headlights as the extra weight of the glass lens will eventually strip the grears. So I'm ont sure I want to deal with the hassles of going all the way when the silverstars made a nice improvement.
Try it for yourself. Not much time or money to invest and you can go from there..

I switched to Silverstars about 3 months ago ... quick and easy. The light is whiter and as many have said seems to do a better job with reflective light on signs etc.
They're not HID's but they're alot better than stock. If they ever do burn out - I'll replace them with Silverstars.
