A Torch Red 2004 Vert with 1,800 miles on it was traded in at a local car dealership last weekend. It is mint. They want $45,000 for it. They claim it stickered new at $58,000. I'm thinking my wife needs a Vette also. Is $45,000 way high? By the way, it is an automatic. It has a tan top and tan interior. Thanks. Dan

For God sakes no it's not high, it only has 1800 miles, this is practically a brand new car with most of it's GM 3/36 warraty still left. If the price was $58,000 that means it has every option available. If it's the right color and options jump on it, because someone else will buy this vehicle before you have time to think about it. Get the vehicle number and I'll check what options it has and vehicle history if any with only 1800 miles.

-I was one of them. And I doubt that an A4 stickered at $58,000 even if it has mag ride. Go look at the forum for sale section. I bet there are better prices. I'd like to think that mine is worth that much, but I know better.

My 2004 vert has every available option except Z51 & manual trans and it was $54K. I'm not sure how you would get it up to $58K unless they are including tax.
The sticker may have well been close to $58k. My 02 was $54k and it doesn't have the F45 ride control, performance axle, or BSM, however I do have the optional mag red paint.
My suggestion is the dealer will "play" with the price if you are serious. You might offer them a couple of $k less.
I thought the representation that it was $58,000 was way off, but I didn't want to get into it during my quick stop to inquire about the price. I'm anxious for the call back to see what the sale price is today.
My 04 Torch Red with 1SB (I think that is the option number), 6 speed, CD changer, body moldings, front plate was $54,500. Take out the 6 speed but add the color premium, ride control, polished wheels, performance axle and you get to $57,000+. I don't recall ever seeing a convertible for $58,000 but you could get close.
With the $3K rebate last summer $10K-$12K off sticker was not uncommon. I paid about $44,000 for mine back in August in the Minneapolis area.
The salesman just called and advised their bottom dollar is $43,600. He said the cars are going for about $43,000 at auctions and that they have $42,600 into the car. He wants a thousand over their investment. Dan

I'm only representing what I was told! Gee, this is in Fargo. Everyone is honest here. As to whether I'm going to get it, I just sent my wife an e-mail and asked her the same question. She said, "we'll talk tonight...I'm working...aren't you?" Geez, priorities, priorities. I thought it would be fun to get it for her as tomorrow is our 30th wedding anniversary. But, who knows! She will probably get logical on me. Oh, well...I have mine! Dan
