Default DIC Range

Anyone else have problems with the "range" on the DIC? I fill my car up and it only reads 128 or so. It use to read about 268 on fill ups. It seems to be fluctuating all over the place. My warranty is almost up and I am debating whether or not to take it to the dealer.

Any comments would be appreciated...

Aloha,
Bill

I had that happen once ... very empty tank, when I filled up ... went to normal range after a few minutes ... otherwise no help. Sorry.

When you fill it up -- reset the average mileage as well -- they are interlinked.

After resetting average mileage switch back to range. It will got from low fuel (when stationary) and start climbing fast as you get out on the road. Mine will then climb out to about 500 mile range.

Is your gas gauge acting OK? There have been lots of problems in that area..

If you have a full gas tank. Get up to about 60 mph, and reset the gas mileage on your D.I.C. It should read about 28 to 33 mpg. Then scroll down to your range setting. It will read anywhere from 375 to 530 miles.
Mine will read about 525. If not, then you need to have some work done.

Thanks for all the replies. I always reset everything on every fill up. I have the same routine that I do everytime that is why I am concerned that it is fluctuating. Looks like I will be going to the dealer...keeping my fingers crossed they dont screw anything up.

Bill

Thanks for the link. So far my gas gauge is working properly, just the "range" seems to be out of whack. Maybe they are related, not sure.

Short update...went for an extended drive today and it seems to be working properly again. I am wondering if maybe my battery was low and causing the problem. I am going to hold off going to the dealer for now...thanks again for the replies.
