May they rot in hell
Washington beltway and AH drivers who think they can ride 4' behind the rear bumper. Well on a slow down the 4th hit the 3rd who then hit the 2nd and wam I was last. Now the 4th's insurance carrier is balking because they want to blame it on someone in between me and the 4th and they say my injuries don't match the damage on the two in between cars. The two in between cars were so close I probably stopped them after they hit me and they just have minor bumper damage. The 4th car has to get a new front clip, radiator, etc. The 2nd car tried to swerve and hit the left side of my rear bumper crumpling the rear left fender and bending the high stregnth bumper impact bar, cracking the rear compartment panel and poping the back light bulbs. The plastic of the bulb was OK and the adjuster wouldn't believe that the tail lights are in the bumper. Regarding the rear compartment the composit is crushed in the corner facing the rear on the left side. Should I insist that the enire compartment be replaced or should I tolerate a cut and fix? Also for sure they will replace the rear fender but what about the bumper. I think it needs replacement. I'll try to post a picture if I can figure out how.
I'll try to post to my web site shortly. Interestly enough the bumper on the left side was crushed (clearly pushed the end of the impact bar about 6") and then after a while it poped back out. The styrophone behind it is busted and banging on the muffler and the exhaust note of the muffler has changed dramatically although I don't see a crack.
I plan to take the car to Auto Body Dimensions in Rockville, MD. Does anyone have any experience with them. Does anyone else have any suggestions or things I should look at. Been to the doc and had the x-rays and frankly my back hurts like hell. It happened yesterday and last night as tonight I'll be sleeping with a heating pad.
Damn it is so nice to now have to deal with this and drive the mini van.
May they rot in hell.

That really sucks.
I could only view the first pic and looking at that, it appears that the rear fascia is salvagable. But, the parts behind it like the foam and support pieces will need to be replaced.
Good luck getting it fixed and back on the road.

Sorry to hear your misfortune
Most large insurance companies have recommended shops. They will guarantee the work in writing. Not a bad way to go. BUT YOU GET THE FINAL CHOICE ON SHOPS.

I had this AH woman come flying up behind me yesterday. I was the last in a long line of slow traffic. She parks 18" off my bumper at 45 mph. Like where the h*** does she think she's going. I can't go faster than the car in front of me and he can't go, well, you know the drill. At least the bee-ach didn't hit me. Wow. I really feel your pain.

Hey - it hurts to look at
The other day on the 270 spur, I had a teenage girl behind me. She had a cell phone in one hand, and a soft icecream cone in the other, and was tail gaiting me. I saw that and got the f*** out of there... Accident waiting to happen.

If there is physical injury get a attorney now!!! Dont wait and don't try to do the claim yourself. Same thing happened to my Wife only she was 5th in the line up. Attorney advised me to take her to a Doctor and take my car to the best shop in town. She wound up getting $14K in personal injury settlement and car like new. Not much for what she suffered through but better than nothing.

Hi Corvette00Car-
Sorry to hear about your car - glad you weren't injured.
My wife was hit in a rear-end collision by a teenage girl not waching the road - doing about 50mph!
she had neck and shoulder pain or a week afterwards - it got worse for her the following day. Luckily there was no permanent injury.
Here's to your getting your vette back in better than new shape
best regards -

Wow, sounds like a real mess. Hope you can find a good body shop that will ensure all damage is identified and that you get it fixed right. Glad you had no injuries.
