Default Normal Operating temp for 70 degree weather

Hi

first ride in nice weather today - got the top off and it was a first
wow

fun

anyways i am due to change the oil but noticed temps for oil when i got home was 220 with coolant temp at 224 and trans temp at 217

these numbers seem in range?

( i could hypothesize the gluggy oil is inhibiting its ability to maintain lower temps but it wouldnt carry for all counters - first warm drive since i got it in dec...)

Cheers

Funny you should ask.

I've been noticing my stock C5 run at 194 coolant temp and oil temp in same vicinity.

Today I was in 90 deg. temps and the coolant got up to 226 while crawling along on an LA freeway. I don't recall the oil temp but it was in the same range.

As soon as I got back up to freeway speed the coolant temp dropped back to 194-196.

A steady 172 degrees here with tranny at 168 in 62 degree weather here in the North East.

But I have a 160 degree thermostat and a trans cooler. I hated the high temps during "spirited" driving and especially in traffic so did something about it.

What kind of trans cooler are you running and where did you mount it?
