Default Question please...

I am about to have a new set of Corsa Exhaust installed. A friend said I should look into having the car's computer adjusted or tuned up to accomadate the new pipes. He was saying they sell these hand held units that plug into your cars computer and you can re-program it...I'm sorry if this sounds all mumbo-jumbo, but I'm not sure what he was talking about ...does this sound like something your familiar with?
Thank you guys.

I certainly didn't have the computer adjusted when I installed my Corsa Indy system over a year ago. I've suffered no ill effects!

You dont need to reprogram for a cat back. All it does it change the sounds, and open the flow a bit. If you had header it may be a different sotry

There are a couple of hand held tuners - Predator by Diablo comes immediately to mind. You can tune your car with one, set shift points and pressure if you have an A4, change the temp the fans come on, and do some other stuff - none of which you need to do with an exhaust system.....trying to sell you a little maybe?

If you're expecting anything more than much better sound and appearance from a Cat-back system, you'll be disappointed.

Regardless of the claims that some of the manufacturers make, there really isn't much gain in the HP department.......

The cars computer will adjust for the minimal gain from just adding an aftermarket exhaust. No tune is required.
