Now that Spring is here (in PA) I'm finally ready to do some mods to my 97 C5 coupe. I'm thinking new wheels and an upgraded suspension. I've done some searching and reading on the suspension options, but I'm still not sure what to do. It seems that my options are:
(1) Z51 sway bars, shocks, and springs
(2) Z06 sway bars, shocks, and springs
(3) Hotchkis sway bars and Bilstein shocks
(4) Some combination of these parts.
I've done Z06 springs and sways, and Bilsteins and am VERY happy, but haven't had a chance to really ring it on a track yet.
My personal suggestion would be to go to Bilsteins. After removing a COMPLETELY dead rear shock from my '04 after only 7500 miles, I'm not to keen on GM quality at the moment. I mean, this thing was toast. After compressing for removal it has yet to rebound...not too impressive.

Lots of members have gone with the Z06 sways and shocks, and some have put in the Z06 springs. My recommendation would be go with either #2 or #2 with the Bilsteins.
the GM guys spent a lot of time at the track developing that combo.......... unless you're going to for a 75% track/25% street car, i'd go with it, and some good tires if your going to push it to the limit (kumho's, BFG's, etc)
i personally like Goodyear RF's for the street (no better RF out there, if you care about "flat tire performance"), and KD's for playtime
