Default HELP...Car stalling after battery replacement...

Hope somebody can help, replaced the battery at the dealer last week and took the car out a bit yesterday, at low speed, in forward and reverse, at 1-2 MPH, car is stalling, no lights or codes, just a stall and then starts right back up

dealer changed the battery out and is saying something about the relay shorting out, placing the car in theft deterrent mode?

any ideas?

thanks...this forum is awesome.

Another note, the battery was replaced at the same time I had my steering column recall done, can this have anything to do with the stalling? I am going out to the garage now to check the air system to make sure nothing is loose...

thanks

Could be a defective battery. If it's not holding a charge correctly, it wouldn't give enough juice to run the electronics correctly.

Though new, has anyone checked the battery to make sure it's not defective?

Oppps, didn't get to read that part. It's part of the recall. I had the recall done and immediately afterwards, I kept getting messages and the car stalling. Turns out there's actually (2) parts to the recall.

Call the dealer....

Thanks Mark...

I don't think my dealer has the sharpest tools in the shed, they have already been made aware that the car was fine before the work and that thhey will be seeing it next week when this rain ends...can you give me a brief desc. of the second part of the recall? does the PCM need to be edited to make it learn the new components?

thanks a million...

Providing I don't get swamped at work again tomorrow, I will post a copy of the recall campaign number for the second recall.

The open recall on my vette didn't mention anything about the second one. I checked with a buddy of mine who works for a dealer and he pulled it up and printed it out for me.

I took a copy of it to my dealer and he fixed it immediately.
