Gotta call on that one. should not take a good mechanic more than 30 min to an hour maybe at the max. Even doing it on jack-stands in a driveway would not take 4 hours. Mabye if you were talking complete exhaust, including headers.

Check somewhere else you are gettin shafted there.

WHAT? You have got to be kidding. I did my own, and the hardest thing was getting it up in the air to get the stock exhaust off. I think total time was a little over an hour. And that was about 20-30 minutes of mucking with getting the pipes aligned.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Thank God for this forum. It is absolutely invaluable especially for new Vet owners. I am only installing catback and xpipe.

No Way. I did my own. Took about 45 mins. to figure how to lift it to the right height to remove the stock exhaust. Once the old one was out about 30 mins or less to add the new one (that includes alignment).

If I had a lift total time 30 - 45 mins....

Well, with an X-Pipe that will take a little more as there is some cutting off of the H-Pipe and then getting the X-Pipe all good to go. Would add a bit more time. But still, 4 hours seems over kill.

FWIW If you have access to a wall or loading dock...just back your car onto ramps at the EDGE of the wall!!! It is a piece of cake, and alot safer than the jackstand with wood blocks and all the rest of the cribbing to get your car high enough!!!!

Be careful of who you get to do this. Dealers might install a lot of exhaust systems (which shouldn't take more than an hour on a lift), but as prevoiusly mentioned, X pipes take some time and care. The cuts have to be measured and then a chain cutter is used to make a square cut. If they don't do it right, it could leak and requre welding to patch it. If you have them do it, ask them how it will be done. - C.

Well, had the exhaust installed today w/ x pipe. Total install time was 1 hr 45 mins. Tips are perfectly aligned and it sounds Grrrrrreat!!!! I wont name the dealer who told me 3-4 hours, but lets just say they come very well recommended by local Corvette Club. Anyway I am very happy, started a relationship w/ a solid shop who will get more of my business. *** I tried to use the dealer??? Shame on them

I was just about to post and saw you already have them on. That's total the dealing was feeding you about 4 hours. I was going to recommend going elsewhere and you did, glad you got it done.

I'd be very leary of that dealership in the future.

No way it should take 4 hours. I took my car into a local muffler shop for the x-pipe and cat back install. Took them about 1.5 hours and cost me $80.
