My 2000 frc is throwing both the ABS and Traction control system codes at the same time. The message screen reads "Service ABS" then blinks "Service Traction Control System" repeatedly. This originally only occured after a hard launch and then the messages would go away when the car was restarted. Now, however, they will not go off whether or not I restart the car. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Here is a suggestion.
Pull fuse 52 (B+ to the electronic brake/traction control module) and fuse 5 (Ignition On to the module) both located in the underhood junction block. Keep the fuses out a minute or two to reset the computer. Re-insert fuses back into the junction block.
Start the vehicle and see if the warnings are gone.
I did this on my vehicle for about two months, anytime it went active due to gravel, wet pavement, or Ricers, then one day it would no longer work.
Then I got a C1214, went to the Dealer and they replaced the module and the brake pressure modulator valve assembly (under warranty) and all was well.
