Hello everyone,
A couple of days ago I noticed the fact that my key fob would not open my door. I figured it was a battery issue...
Today I replaced the battery and I still have no luck. I referred to the owners manual and tried to "re-sync" it as well as "re-match" it with the DIC but it still does not work. I don't get anything! Can someone please offer me some advice. I don't know what else to try. All comments are greatly appreciated!
Sorry but I can not help you with your problem. However, what does"fob" stand for? I know WHAT it is just not sure what it stands for. Also is there a fob #1 and a fob #2 that changes the seat and mirrors? Sorry to run this off topic.
Hello Everyone,
A couple of days ago, my key fob would not open my door. I figured it was the battery so I changed it out with a new one. I tried it today, and it still does not work. I referred to the owners manual and "re-sync" and "re-match" the key fob with the DIC, but it still does not work. The DIC doesn't seem to be learning the key fob. I even tried a different key fob with no luck. I am out of ideas. Please help me out. Any comments will be greatly appreciated...
try taking it apart and cleaning the electircal board where the rubber buttons touch (with a clean paper towel) then look at the the rubber molded buttons and clean those off with a paper towel too (dont use water cause it might mess things up)
A clean paper towel always works for me. It seams that gm remote key fobs get dirty really easily.
I think that you are on track with trying to re-synch the fob. Make sure you put the battery in the right way (sorry, but it can happen) You will need to press both the lock and unlock buttons for longer than 10 seconds and wait for the horn to beep. Do you have a second fob? Does it still work? This could help diagnose if it has anything to do with the receiver.

The Batteries Plus guy put my battery in upside down on the first attempt - after we put it in the right way it took 3 or 4 tries to get it resync'ed, and seemed to take a lot longer than 10 seconds to get the horn to beep.

Same thing happened to me several months ago...turned out that the FOB had failed....it was replaced under my extended warranty.
