Mirror Configuration
I went to a ballgame last night (took the family so I couldn't drive the Vette) and noticed another vert there in parking lot. He had rotated his mirrors so that they wouldn't stick out quite so far and risk getting dinged by adjacent cars or clumsy people.
I thought this was a good idea, but is it healthy to do it frequently? Does anyone else do this on a regular basis?

The mirrors may break eventually, especially in hot weather, but they can be fixed too. I don't do it. I figure if someone's going to be careless enough to hurt my car, they'll do it in such a way as to avoid my extra precautions.

I have done it on occassion (they are designed to fold) but wouldn't make a habit of it. Apparently the spring mechanism has a weak link somewhere.
