Default My First "Real" Show

I entered my 2004 C-5 Silver Coupe with a Black Butt in Eckler's spring show in Titusville, FL this past Saturday in the "Street Driven" class.

My brother and I spent a day and a half cleaning it and getting it ready for the show. I just turned 20K miles driving home from Daytona Beach today so I didn't really expect to win.

The judges were great and took the time to explain what they looked for when I told them it was my first show. I lost points for dust and grease on the door hinges, dirt way back behind the hatch hinges and dirty wheel wells.

But I went there to have fun and meet a lot of the folks from the Forum.

Owning a Corvette sure is fun!

Looks like fun, I was supposed to have gone to a vette rally this weekend in Clarksville, but due to a shift change won't be able to make it. Looking forward to going to one soon so I can see all the mod's up close and personal.

I like your black butt!

I have grease all over my door hinges and behind them... I can't get my fat hand in there to de-grease it!

Hope you had fun anyways!

Jim

So you took your Bro with you? I bet Carol would've had a great time shopping in Eckler's.

Jim...it was nice to meet you there...
I appreciate you coming by to introduce yourself...

learning what judges look for is a big part of winning...
the other 99% that goes into showing your vette is cleaning!

I once spent 3 months cleaning...
...then you get to the show and clean...

...but in the end...the trophy makes it worthwhile...
and in the midst of all the shows...friendships loom...

peace
Stu

Shows are a great way to meet people....everyone has to start someplace. You will pick up tips along the way and then you will have even more fun.
Nice car

Glad you had a great time. It will always be a learning experience. I have been doing it for years and never won because if you drive the car, your odds are slim. Some of the cars I go up against are better than when they come off the production line. BTW, love the black butt end!

I really like that black rear-end on the car... was that an option, custom work... or what? Beautiful vehicle.

Thanks for all of the complements on my black butt guys!

I also blacked out the front vents on the fascia. But I cut out around the blackout plastic around the DRLs so that the farmers and log truckers on the back roads I drive can see me coming.

Too many things to spend money on at Eckler's. New exhaust will be another day.

Good meeting everyone
