After disconnecting the battery, my remote entry stopped working. I tried reprogramming according to the owner's manual, but at the point in the process where the DIC states " FOB TRAINING", you are supposed to press the RESET button, and then the DIC is supposed to state" PRESS LOCK AND UNLK". For some reason, nothing happens after I press the reset button - the DIC just stays "FOB TRAINING". Any one else have this problem and find a solution?

I have a 2001 vert.
Thanks.
You shouldn't have to go through this process. What you describe is the re-learning procedure that is needed when you want to assign a new fob to the car. What you need to do is a simple re-synch. Stand close to the car and hold down the lock & unlock buttons on the fob. After about 10 seconds, the horn should toot. You are back in business. (This re-synch is only intended for fobs that have already been "assigned" to the car through the learning procedure.)

Great info!
I got the same problem after trying to relearn the old remote.
Thanks,

Well. what do you do if that doesn't work...as in mine!

If you've all ready used the remote with the car....just re-sync. It looses it's way with a battery change.
What's strange is I tried entering the tire training mode, and I can't acces that either....the DIC just stays "TIRE TRAINING", and won't enter the next mode.

I just checked the codes and got "BO-RFA NO COMM" among other things like the excessive whell spin code (that one cracks me up). Now I've just got to figure out what the RFA is...
I just looked in the owner's manual, and don't see a fuse for the RFA. I think more explanantion is now necessary....Now for the long story....
I ripped out the whole interior over the winter, applied a layer Fat Mat, Frost King for sound deadening, took out the guage cluster and installed aluminum bezels, ripped out the Blose and installed aftermarket speakers, amp, sub, and head unit, installed heated seats....it turned out really nice, sounds great, and my a** is warm. However, maybe somewhere, somehow, I missed a connector. This picture might explain it:
Do you have a second key fob?
I got 2 with my '00. My #1 fob hasn't worked since I unpacked the car from hybernation last week...I did the relearn on the 2nd fob and it worked.
Your problem sounds identical to the one I had yesturday. I tried EVERYTHING!!! I was ready to throw in the towel before trying one last thing out of desperation! I undid the negative terminal on the battery, waited two minutes, reconnected the cable, and tried to re-program the remote. To my surprised it worked!!! GO FIGURE?????????? Anyways, it has been performing flawlessly since....
Good luck,
vettedawg, any problems after you ripped your dash apart????
nope...dash came out...a few more grey hairs sprouted (it's a bit frightening looking at your baby with no dash in it) ...HUD went in...dash went back in...more miles of smiles.
I had removed the Delco battery and stuck it into my winter beater. I bought an Optima red top, put it in and fired up the car a week or so ago...everything was fine except the key fob would not relearn. I'm using the spare fob.

Good luck,
My Key Fob is also not working properly w/ my 2000 FRC. I am going to try this technique. I hope it works! One thing strange that I have noticed is that after I re-sync my remote, the horn will beep twice instead of once.
