Default Started BSM Removal Process ... Need Help

Ok, so i have removed one piece of the BSM (One of the smaller strips), got all the junk removed, but there is this haze that outlined where the BSM was that i can't seem to remove.

Anyone have any tips on what to use to remove it.

How old is the car? That might be paint fade. Try a good glaze or a buff. But if it old paint fade, then oppps.

Don't know what to tell you

The paint underneth the BSM was fine, it is just this haze around the outline of the BSM. Its worse on the bottom then the top, the top just has a very faint line.

I just had mine taken off at the shop and if you look really close you can see slight shadow lines. The paint shop will buff it out. I will be picking my car tomorrow so I'll let you know what they did to get it off.

I just removed mine from my 98 last year. But my car only has 11,000 miles, so it doesn't sit in the sun very much.

My bet is that none of those above things will work IF it is a very very faint yellow line down the side that you are seeing. I had the EXACT same problem when i took mine off. I tried everything to get it off with no success. The good news is that if you leave it out in the sunlight for a week or so it will even itself out. Hope this helps.

I used ScratchX on mine, and even then, if you look REEEEAAAAALLLL hard, you can still make out a ghost. Barely noticeable. I'm going to try claying this weekend(just got it out of storage) and see if it works. Good luck!

Thats exactly what its like, just a very faint line down the door. You can only see it when up close and really looking for it but of course I'm looking for it.

Try some Meguiars Paint Cleaner, it's gentle on paint, strong on crud!

Well, I got them all off looks 100x better then with them on. Removing the excess tape/glue was such a pain in the rear but it was worth it.

Still have sorta a faint ghost outline but there is no paint fade so im happy. I will work on then ghost some more tommorow. Thanks to everyone that chimned in with some suggestions

You guys truly are a great bunch of guys

Now if we can convince the unconverted masses that Vette minus BSM's equals a better looking car, the world would be a better place...
