Thank,s so far for all the info ,can the Michelin Sports or Kumho be repaired after a flat or not, there seems to be some people say only goodyears can be repaired,I,m leaning toward michelen ZP but if the kuhmo can be plugged maybe i,ll look into them, and just out of curiousity for all the people that don,t use run flats what do you do if you get a flat try fixing it on the side with a tire plug kit(that would suck)

I wonder how much this matters during the winter. Anyone out there that can vouch for better cold weather performance of the Michelin Tires over the others...
I also think that the 200 mile zero pressure rating on the Goodyears compared to 50 miles on the other is important too. My .02
that is a good point, When it gets below 40'F summer tires start loosing their traction, and driving on the snow in no picnic either (especially when you are below the tread markers, don't ask how I know :o ).

the down side to all-season tires is that they are a jack of all trades, master of none tire. not as good in the snow as a winter tire and not as good in good weather as a summer tire. Everything is a trade off unless you want have 10 sets of wheels and tires for every different condition.

Why do you need no pressure performance.
Roadside assistance is a cell call away.

My Kuhmo's ride so much better and I can hear my Bose system for the 1st time since I bought my car.

Run flats suck.

Any tire can be fixed with a plug.

Michelin Sports=Increadable grip.

They are expensive but what the heck so much is riding on your tires. On the other hand if price is an issue i would go with the Kumho's over the GY's anyday. just my .02 cents

Default Kumho

Just replace the original GY on 2001 with Kumho. Initial impression at a 40% discount to the GY's, these are excellent tires, great traction, less noise and better ride. I dont know about wear, time will tell

Just replaced my Firestone Firehawks w/ Kuhmo ECSTA MX (run flats) from the Tire Rack. I couldn't be happier with the performance and the price. Zuti Good luck with your search. Whatever you choose you'll be happy, most tires these days are decent. I remember, my old '69 big block came with polyester G78 15s... Good old days... I don't think so!!

Had my MXs up to 130mph in the rain on saturday, no problem, but i did slow down to about 110 when I got to a stretch with some standing water.

5. Better rim protection from curb rash
6. Difficult to spin tire with traction control on.
7. Michelin has proven itself with F-1 road racing, not driveing in boreing circles. but REAL RACING!

you're right!

the michelins are the other exception, and I was really considering them.
but, based on price, I'M still going with non runflats.

I know the price put a dent in my wallet If you search around you can get a set for $1100.00 +/- a few bucks. When mine wear out I may replace them with non-runflats. Have to see how these last
