i like my hurst.would not go back to stock for anything.install time is about 45 minutes.there is some increased effort required to shift, but no big deal.
Just fitted a Breathless. Night and day. Some people keep the stock shifter in case they ever want to convert back - at the same time they fit square wheels I assume!
There isn't any "best" shifter. Any aftermarket shifter is an improvement over the OEM. I have the Hurst and like it. Other's have their personal favorites. I'd try and find some local Corvette buddies (maybe through a local club) and check them out for yourself.
I'm wondering how many times this same topic is going to be repeated. Read the threads!
It's true......they are rumors.
the problem is that there are 50 different threads on this subject and after reading them all I am MORE confused then when I started. I think someone should make a FACT post about aftermarket shifters and make it a "Sticky".....
Not all of us have owned Z06's as long as you may have. We all have to start somewhere.
Well this is a great place to start and there are a ton of folks here with great infomation and experaince. Great forum but I am side-tracked...
Hurst and love it. A great mod that you can feal every minute in the car and very easy to install. The tranny has built in stops. Most take out the stops in the aftermarket shifters so they do not back out and cause the car to be locked out of a gear. Good luck!
