Looking for some expert advice here. My C5 (2002 with about 30K miles), has developed a slight noise (stated abut 15K miles ago w/ no change since). It's a very slight "rattle"....a little hard to describe. It doesn't seem to change w/ engine RPM, road surface, acceleration, or brakes. Seems to be directly tied to speed only. I hear it most on deceleration at about 40 MPH...may only be that I can hear it then because of the stingers blocking it out at higher speeds. It seems to sometimes be coming from behind the dash, and sometimes under the car. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it's a speedometer cable, but to be honest, I don't even know if the C5 has a cable or is "fly by wire".
I took it to the dealer for a fix at about 20K miles...the said they "changed some springs on the front spoiler" but that had no effect.
I'm a bit at a loss...any thoughs on where to look? ....and can anyone confirm if there is a spedo cable on a 2002 c5?
