Default Need Opinions.....

Last night Powerhouse Performance installed my VIS carbon fiber hood on my car. I want some of your opinions on what I should do. I took a couple pics last night so if someone can post them for me I would appreciate it.
Should I:
1) Leave it completely carbon fiber
2) Paint the hood completely
3) Paint the hood but leave some stripes in carbon fiber
Thanks guys.

I'll be honest from my perspective......I would paint the whole thing. For some reason, I HATE carbon fiber. I dont know why, but I do.

I guess it really depends on whether you chose the carbon fiber for the looks or for the weight savings and design. If you like the raw look, just leave it that way. A lot of people do.

Thanks. I like the look of carbon fiber so I am having a hard time deciding. I think I might paint it but leave carbon fiber stripes. I just wanted to see the fit and finish before I spent more money on painting and stuff. It is a quality hood for a reasonable price. And yes its like 15lbs or less.

I think it looks pretty nice on black. Is it clear coated already?

I'd like to see two silver racing stripes on a black painted hood with a 3/4 inch stripe of carbon showing down the center of the silver stripes. WADAYA Think?

Paint the outside of the hood body color, but on the back side just use clear coat on the carbon panels and body color on the frame - like this;;

Awesome replies guys. It does have a gel coat type clearcoat on it. it is UV protected and made to be left unpainted. I am torn between leaving it unpainted and doing 2 stripes down the hood. Maybe the Z16 CE style stripes left in carbon fiber. Any other stripe pics you guys can show me would be great. If the car was any other color than black I would do the stripe thing right away but since the car is black it is a hard decision because it does look pretty darn good.

Its hard to say Jeff. I like the first pic, but the second pic is showing to much light on the hood. I need to see it in person. I do like your idea of maybe just painting the hood and having carbon fiber stripes like the Z16. Anyway you look at it you have the best color to do a carbonfiber combination.

Carbon fiber is a high tech look - but a little goes a long way, IMHO.

Jason, what are you doing later. Maybe you can come down and take a look at the hood in person. Let me know.

Looks KOOOOL. I vote a show winning black hood would look the best. (2) You can always add Vinal stripes later and peal them off later to change the looks. JMHO.
