Rear End Noise
I have 02 Z06 that I have taken to the dealer for the noise that is coming from the ring and pinon gearsiI believe. The problem is that when you are at constance speed you get this wine that at around 45 mph and up is very annoying. The deal said that they hear the nosie but can not determine the problem and to drive it until the problem gets worse. Have any of you had this type of noise and if so what did you do to fix the problem. The car has 39000 on it with extened warranty. The dealer said they would take care of the problem if it gets worse until 60000.

Do you get any noise during tight cornering? Have you tried changing the fluid? I would have the fluid changed, at that time you can see if there are excessive metal shavings and the condition of the fluid.. The dealer should have checked into this...

Dealer changed the oil at 30,000 and the noise was there at that time. Dealer said at the time that might take care of the problem but it still exist. Make no difference if you are turning are going in a straight line.
