That was during the 5th anniv @ the Plant. I was there and raced in the autocross that was held in the plants parking lot. The nut standing there had been warned several times not to stand on that side of the track. Protection had been set up on the other side of the track to protect the spectators. He was just shook up but they took him to the horsepistol just to make sure and to see if he had anything between his ears... dont think they found anything.

I've had the same thing happen at an autox, come around a corner and suddenly there's a course worker right in my line. Trust me, it scares the foo out of you - but the key is to maintain control of your car and steer away from the incident. Racing requires a high level of what pilots call "situational awareness" - knowing what's going on around you and reacting quickly and properly to those varying conditions/circumstances. Not to say this guy/gal could have averted the incident, but looking ahead is not just for going faster - also for avoiding disaster like this!
