Worked perfectly, no more rocking at all. A friend of mine who owns the Corvette Shop in Montgomery NY told me that it was a common problem and that was what he would have done. In fact, based on what he told me, I told the dealership and they did it, and it worked.
I got mine covered under warranty. There is a TSB out addressing this problem. I don't have the TSB number handy, but I can find it if you need. I believe they replaced the seat track, but not positive. I know it's nice to drive without the rocking chair effect.

New GM set track is about $450 from GMPartsDirect.com. List is $750 or so. That is the only solution to rocking seat if the repair (install washers) doesn't work. You almost have to take the track apart to tell if the block has play in it I would think. You might try getting a take-out from a salvage newer model year.
In my 99 the rails appear tight but the grommets holding the seat to the rail appear to be loose...Does anyone know if drilling out the grommets/rivets(whatever they are called) and replacing them with black anodized bolts and locking nuts on the underside is an option? Before I start drilling, I would like to know that someone else has been successful
