I am looking for any info or photos on radar detector installation. Tried the search function but came up empty. I would really be interested in hearing about and/or seeing photos on how others did with their installation. Written instructions would also be great. The Forum members usually come up with some pretty novel ideas. I appreciate any help I can get here. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, no pics, but I recently installed my V1 with the mirror bracket from great lakes trophy, and the short wire directly to the auto dimming mirror for a very slick and sleek install.
Steve
I recently got a Valentine 1 and wanted to hook it to the mirror electrical connector for power as several here have done. Someone sells a cable to do this but I thought I'd try my hand at making my own first. I found an extra black phone cord I had laying around and pulled two pins out of a computer connector. Then I cut the cord to length and crimped the pins to the stripped wires. Finally, I positioned the detector on the windshield and hooked up the power cord. Very quick and easy hook-up.
The two pins are pushed ito the back of the mirror connector.
Ready to hook to the V1
I wanted the cord as short as I could make it. I can always make another if I relocate the V1.
I then ran the black power cable through the header above the windshield, down the passenger side A pillar, through the dash and down into the passenger side footwell fuse box. On my car there is an unused pigtail that can be spliced into for power.
