Default Need Oil Pressure Sensor!

98 Vette,
When I turn the key on, my oil gauge moves with the rest of the gauges like normal then jumps back up all the way (maxed out).
Like theres a short circuit.
When I start her up, it stays maxed out with no change,
the digital readout will say XXX or sometimes (if I remember right)
128psi.

I am assuming of getting another sender, and seeing if that works.

Could this be the problem?
Anyone know the price?(non-dealership)
Is it on the side of block by filter on these blocks?
Is it a popular sensor, same as LT1 camaro, firebird, vette?
I have one of these.

A bad sensor would be your problem. The "smoking gun" is the pegged pressure reading when the motor is not running. Its only about a $40 part and relatively easy to replace. A dealer will rob you blind with labor for this repair. Here is the link to the Tech Tip:https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=246&TopicID=1
