Default Installed Halltech Stinger = Check Engine Light

I put on a Halltech Stinger last Thursay. I drove it a few short trips that day and the next. Then the weather got bad, so i covered it. Today after work i got in, drove it two short trips, and on the third trip the dreaded light came on!! The car runs no different. I'm sure it's being caused by the intake. I'll know for sure tommorrow when i go to work. I work at a car dealership. I'll just have one of the service guys plug in his diagnostic computer and we'll see what code comes up.

So if it is the intake, what can i do to fix the problem? Add a MAF Screen?

I found the following information somewhere online, and did it following my Halltech intake.....Worked fine!

Follow these procedures EXACTLY or you will have to start from scratch.

1. Insert key into ignition and turn to the "On" position but, DO NOT START THE ENGINE.
2. Pop open the engine fuse block box cover and remove the two 10amp fuses from position numbers 16 & 23.
3. Your DIC will now display "check" messages for ABS, etc...
4. Turn ignition to the "Off" position.
5. Re-insert both 10amp fuses for positions 16 & 23.
6. Start your engine
7. Allow engine coolant temperature to reach a minimum of 176 degrees F and run at this minimum temperature for at least 5 minutes.
8. Shut down engine
9. Let rest for a minimum of 30 seconds.
10. Restart engine - check for DIC error codes (there should be none).
11. Drive car for a minimum of 30 miles at varying rpm settings and speeds. PCM will now re-learn and adjust for the new air flow and air temperature at the intake.

probably getting a lean code until the computer learns.

You should also check to make sure all your fittings are tight. My first installation I thought everything was good and then when I got the error code I rechecked and realized that everything was not as snug as I thought.

Last week after a day opf racing I got the code again and went back inside to see what was up. I had to tighten everything again and then the code went away.

You can check your own codes by:

Turning car to accessory
holding options button
hitting the fuel button 4 times

It will run through the test and you can look online to see what the codes mean.

Today i had my service guy plug in the Diagnostic machine. Came up lean code. He unhooked the battery, waited about 10 minutes, and hooked it back up. Then left it in the on position for a minute, let it idle for about 5 minutes, and then drove it for another 5 min. No code for now. Everything is hooked up tight. I made sure there was no leaks or anything like that. I'll take it for a long drive later on. That way the computer can learn the new air flow.
