Hey all I've been reading through the posts here for awhile and decided to register and say hi. I'm thinking of possibly moving up to a C-5 maybe this summer. I've always liked Corvettes but never lusted after one until I saw the C-5 I love the style. The only vette I've driven has been the C-6 and needless to say I enjoyed that. I'm going to test drive some C-5's and hopefully rent one for a day or two to see how I like it and that I'm sure will be a big factor in my decision to purchase one.
Great site you have here and I'm learning a lot!

Rob, whatever you do, do NOT go drive a C5. For God's sake, don't get in one and drop the hammer...not unless you're ready to take the plunge. There's nothing in this world like that first time you really jump on it.
LOL! So far I've been teased the vettes that I drove were at a car dealership I formely worked at, the C-6 I drove was brand new still had the plastic on it and only 4 miles so I didn't want to push it since it wasn't broken in. The other vette I drove was a modified electron blue 02 Z06 with over 500 horse I didn't drive the Z06 far I just moved it and I just let it roll off idle but just sitting in that car it felt very comfortable to me, a good fit.

welcome Rob. I'm also fairly new to the forum, and just recently bought my first vette. May I just say that their is nothing like driving a C5, and there is no place on the web better or more helpful than this corvette forum. So enjoy both them both, and good luck w/ your search. -Joe

Just about any Corvette will hook you like that, but especially a C5! It's sort of like a drug dealer giving you a few shots of free heroin. Just enough to get you permanently addicted.
I used to work at a Chevy dealership when I was 18 and I fell in love with the C4 vettes. I particulary liked the yellow convert with the black top (I think it was an '86 or '87).
Now I am so spoiled with the looks of the C5, I can't think of getting a C4. Although I saw a Polo Green coupe on one of these forums that could get me to think about it.
I have been wanting one for about 18 years now, so I am pretty sure I am going to get my first Corvette here pretty soon.
