Here's a couple pics. While some of the Forum members don't care for the splash guards, I like them and have found them helpful in minimizing paint chip damage, etc. Altec does a great job making them look OEM. If you can't find your color, call them and they will make them for you at no extra cost. While you do need to drill holes, I would install them again. If you change your mind down the road, I don't think filling the hole and painting it would be that involved. If you plan to lower your car, it may not leave much in the way of clearance, especially over speed bumps. Lastly, if you autocross or plan to, I would think the possibility of breaking a spalsh guard would be higher. Whatever you decide, its your Vette and enjoy.
If you plan on driving your car a lot I would not recomend the splash gaurds for the front. The plastic is much to hard and constantly hits the ground when going up and down ramps or small speed bumps. Not only does the gaurd scrap but there is no give so you can really damage your fenders as well. I had to take mine off and put on a much softer splash gaurd.

I have been considering these for some time for my Mag Red II Vert. I emailed Altec asking for pics if they have them of some installed on one other than black. Do you have pics of yours installed on your Vette? I do see that they sell them in color matched now for $79.95 a pair.

I have had great luck with them on the '87....not a chip or mark from any stone kick ups. One thing to be aware of though...over time, the movement of the guards against the fender can leave some very slight marking when they are removed.

Could you share with us where you got the "much softer splash guard", to include pics?
I'll be getting my car back from the dealer on Tuesday. I will post some picks and get you some part numbers for the front splash gaurds. They match the rear Altecs very well and are made of soft rubber.
