I'm hoping to install a B&M shifter in my '99 MN6 this weekend while doing the "frost king" mod. It is a new shifter (not used) and has the supplied rubber boot and clip. I am worrried about possible shifter noise and would like to do the install right the first time. I've read several complaints about rattles (mostly caused by improper shift **** installation) and some have added a rubber boot made from a pipe cap to cut down on vibrations. With the supplied cap, will I have problems? Thanks
I found no matter what I did it all boiled down to **** choice. After buying a few name brand ***** (all of which buzzed/rattled etc) I finally found one that lives in harmony with the Hurst. I'd suggest the MGW line of *****.
Take a look at my MGW Gripper mated to a Hurst and a VE short shifter boot:
The Frost King is good, but I'd suggest you spend a little more and really do it right. Buy some DynaMat. If your in a hurry you can buy a package for $35 from Best Buy (4 sq feet) more than enough to do a proper job on the console.

Here's my MGW Pistol Grip with the B&M Shifter......makes for a VERY "short" shifter with VERY tight shifts and NO noise....
