Sounds weird
Took the car out earlier for a midnight snack run and she was sounding really weird. At idle it was ok but after I realized she sounded different I begin several slow slow slow take offs with the RPM reaching 1000 or so and it sounded like a diesel clacking??????? I've got less than a half of tank of gas so I don't think it's bad gas but was curious if the cooler theromostat that was installed a few weeks ago would effect it like that. It's turned off chilly here in the DFW area with temps in the mid 40's right now...would that effect it any???? This is the coolest it's been since the install....

No. The thermostat would not cause such a problem, no would 40 degrees. Sounds like bad gas is making it ping. I'd go fill up with some good stuff and see if the noise continues. If it does, you probably want to get it looked at.

the only thing I think is odd is that the gas in there is from the same place I always get (EXXON 93) which I know gas changes from time to time but also I just started doing it with a quarter tank left or so. The gas was my first thought but figured if it was bad gas that it would started earlier in the tank
