Beware!!!
Met this guy at a tire store who told me a sad and scary store. He pulled his C4 out for a spring cleaning and later that day, he and his wife took the Buick to do some shopping. When he returned the vette was gone from his drive. A neighbor told him she saw a roll back picking up the car and thought he was just having problems. Now the car can't be found and the insurance will not pay anywhere near what he has in the car. The insurance Co. said they see this from time to time and the cars usually end up over seas where the worth is at least twice what is here. Something else to worry about with vettes. Beware of roll back's in you neighborhood.

Thanks for the info. Would backing into parking spaces and into the drive not remedy some of the problem, or would a thief just drag the car in gear?

Another car is stolen and that's news? So, it's a Vette. Do ya know how many are stolen?
If ya EVER drive it... anywhere, it's vulnerable.
Simple, insure it for what it's worth.
All the best.

That would be an awful experience to go through. Pretty sad that you can't leave your car parked outside anymore.

who is the insurer?
what do you need to do to ensure you get what your spent on it - in the event of it being stolen, compared to their idea of the value?
Cheers

Are his payments current? That sounds like a repo to me. Car thevies don't usually use tow trucks to steal cars.

May I ask where you got this information?

Thieves have been using tow trucks for years and no they do not care about damage to the car. They are getting the car for free....what is a couple hundred bucks worth of damage to them?
