Default Belt keeps slipping off on 99 C5...HELP

My friend has a 99 C5 and the belt keeps slipping off (main serpentine belt driven by crank). Could it be the tensioner pulley gone bad? Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jamey

Most likely the tensioner pulley but you should inspect all the pulleys. Check to make sure they are inline and the bearings are good.

More than likely your crank pulley. Inspect it really close.

All of the above, something is loose or out of alignment.

Could be any of the pulleys - have them checked for proper alignment and make sure they are tightened down. Good luck.

Thanks,

The serpentine belt kept slipping off on mine 2000 A4 under heavy acceleration. It was the tensioner pulley... Replaced it, no problems since... Easy fix...
