I have a 99 magnetic red coupe that I recently brought out of storage. When I turn the key, a message appears "Service column Lock" I have just been hitting the reset button and it goes away until i have to restart the car. I did have the recall done last year by my dealership, but had no problems until this year. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, I would like to get it taken care of, since I am considering selling the car. Only to upgrade of course, to a Z06. Any information would be helpful, Quick fix, not a quick fix, expensive, has to be done by a mechanic, ETC.....
Mine is in the shop right now for the very same thing. DIC message even after the recall was taken care of. They just called me and told me that it was possibly the battery. Not sure about that though, it is only like 3 months old and its and Optima RedTop. They told me that it was probably some corrosion from the old battery causing me problems. I am hoping thats all.... I will let you know more when I pick it up...

Talk with your dealership - the column lock message should not be showing up all the time. You could also get a column lock bypass kit and hopefully that would get rid of the message also.
I got this message once and noticed the column was NOT locking. I reset the fuse to the system and all was fine. I think I got this because I was having low battery issues.
