Default Coolest thing ever!

i just discovered how to read and clear codes with no equiptment (no hptuners, LSedit, handheld tuners, nothing) and it works on stock vettes!

simply hold the option button while quickly pressing the fuel button 4 times. this brings up an auto scrolling display of all codes your car has, with a C at the end for current codes, and an H at the end for codes stored as "history" (no longer being tripped) pressing the options button will stop the autoscrolling, and after that each time you press option, it will advance to the next section (codes are seperated into sections such as TCS or VCM, even the radio has a section) to clear the codes get it to the section you wish to clear and hold the reset button for aprox 3 - 5 secs. it will then say "no codes" to exit the program press the metric conversion button.

now i just need to find a list that will tell me what the codes refer to... any ideas on that one?

old news, do a search, the code menu is floating around here somewhere. I just referred to it a week ago. Very handy.

If you change your own oil, push the gas peddle down 3 times fast to reset the oil life in the DIC.

Why not reset it by pressing RESET?

But really, why not just use the rest button on? It sounds so odd I cannot figure out if it is . Truth can be stranger than fiction!
