If you've read the post then you should know the answer....you need a column lock bypass. Either a GM Harness K bypass or an aftermarket bypass. Why you got the recall done is beyond me, as it doesn't fix the problem for 6 speeds.

Hey Shylor Not that it's any of your business but it was done before I bought the car.

PS. On the website with a self install of the CLB http://www.97vette.com/howto/columnlock/index.html

it states
If you have the Chevy RECALL bypass installed on your car by the dealer, the CLB will not work.
So you can see thier is a little conflicting text out their.

Anyone have suggestions as to where to order it from. Website or company?

The first thing you need to do is ascertain whether your car already has a CLB. You can easily detrermine that by getting in your car and gripping the steering wheel (do not put key in ignition) and try turning the steering wheel back and forth. If it is locked then you do not have a CLB on the car. If the wheel will turn then you just saved yourself about $50.00 and your car already has a CLB.

I have read previous posts about 98 or maybe 99 Vettes that seem to have problems accepting the CLB. You may want to do a little research on this issue.

I ordered my CLB from Corvettes of Houston and received it within about three days. I spent about an hour installing it and have had nothing but peace of mind since then.

Good luck!

You didn't state the recall was done before you bought the car! And the bypass will work even for recalls done on cars with the 6 speed. This is because only a flash was done on 6 speeds. The site you quoted is incorrect. Do a search on this forum if you don't believe me.
