I've been reading the various threads on this treaded column lock issue. I bought my 04 MN6 new last September. It has over 1,600 miles on it. I haven't had the column lock problem. I have not received any recall notices. Additionally, I called GM a few months back and asked about any pending recalls for my car. There were none. Sponge Vette checked the VIN on my car today too and found no recalls. So, what should I do in my position...don't trouble trouble till trouble troubles me? Beats me!! Thoughts, opinions, ideas? You guys seem to know what is the best thing to do in all these situations. Thanks. Dan

Geez Dan, that is weird. My 04 I have had 2 recalls, the balljoint one and the column lock one. Mine was an early build, serial number 3000 and something but there was NO WAY I was going to be posting about my column locking for any reason other than being in a strip joint!
My car was built on June 2, 2004. I suspect that was towards the end of production for 04's, although I'm not sure. Where did you buy the CLB and who did you have install it, if other than yourself? Thanks. Dan

I bought mine at Thunder Racing and put it in myself.
