Default Rear lettering - replacement "R" needed.

I have the reflective breaklight red lettering and the "R" broke inhalf due to it flapping because of poor glue. Does anyone know if you can buy just the one letter?

Hi jgmachine -

If you bought these at Mid America, call them - they know the glue does not stick -

I had the same problem, they sent me a replacement set of letters -

I stuck them on with clear silicone (high adhesive quality) and all is well now.

best regards -

I have a similar problem with the rear brakelight red letter R on my Z06. The glue is holding the "something" to the car, but the red letter that should be attached to the "something" is starting to peel off at the bottom point of the R.
I bought mine at Ecklers. I sent them an email and never got an answer. Since I live in the area, I decided to go there in person. I was told that manufacturer gives no warrenty, so there was nothing they could do as far as a replacement. However, they did offer to give 10% off a new set of letters. Although it was a gesture on their part, I did not feel that it was really a very good gesture since they frequently have 10% off sales anyway.
I finally decided to wait until it is bad enough to notice when a few feet away (right now it can only be seen when up close washing the car). Too bad that they did not honor the bad product like Mid America does!

Just take the letter totally off, remove the adhesive/grit/grime on the back and use clear nail polish.

Hi gr8corvette -

I know what you mean - when I removed the letters that did stick, some of the silver backing tore off, and that made them unuseable without painting the back or something...

Mid-America did me right.

I have heard many stories of letters coming off. I got the chrome stickers from Ecklers from my fiance (yes she is a keeper as she buys me corvette stuff, hatch liner, jacking pucks ect...). They went on smooth but up close they are not perfect and I have a wrinkle in 2 letters. When I get back I am going with some SS inserts as the thick chrome can not wrinkle or go on other than straight. Good luck on a letter or maybe try another set, with a new look????

Default UPDATE- Good customer service

My hat goes off to Ecker's. They send me an "R" in the mail...

Below is the e-mail I send and the e-mail I got back...
________________________________________ ______________

Good morning Joseph,

I spoke to my tech and we haven't had anyone else let us know about the lettering, we are going to send you a R out today in the mail. He wanted me to let you know that you have to clean the area with rubbing alcohol. IT cleans it real good and it helps the tape better for it to stick. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
Tammi

Subject: rear lettering

To Whom It May Concern:

Last year I purchased the “Breaklight Red Rear Lettering for my Corvette C5 Z06. The “R” in the word corvette fell off when I just took it out of winter storage. (fell of when driving) Upon investigating, most of the letters are not sticking. Can you send me a new letter “R”? I feel that these letters should have held up better than they did. Some guys on Corvetteforum.com told me they had a similar experience with the letters. Apparently the may have had a bad batch.

Thank you in advance,

Hi jg -

Cool! good to see they took care of you - nicely done Ecklers.

My letters are on hard and fast with the clear silicone - and I just waxed the car and rubbed them to make sure they are stuck.

good luck!

best regards -
