Throwing codes..
Calling the owner of the car I am purchasing real quick and showing him how to check for codes.. will any codes be there that are suppose to be there - like "ok" codes or should there be nothing...
And its turn the key over once.. and hit fuel 4 times and then they will pop up correct?
Not sure what you mean by "ok" codes, but only Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), current and history if any, will appear. DTCs can be manually deleted (reset) and history codes will reset themselves after 50 engine starts, so running the codes may or may not tell you anything. Thus, you may want to consider getting a CarFax and/or having a history run on the car before buying.
The following link shows the DTCs specific to each of the C5 model years and provides the correct instructions for accessing the codes:

As said before, there should be no codes....i believe hitting the fuel 4 times resets your oil life...but i could be mistaken.
You need to hold the options button down while hitting the fuel key 4 times.. if there are no codes present in a particluar module..the DIC will say for example "BCM- No Codes". I just checked mine this morning.
After the computer has gone through all the modules, it will go into "Manual Mode" and you can scroll back and fourth I belive by using the trip button, etc..
